Prayer and Worship
Our Lady of Mount Carmel School exists to assist the Church in her mission to “make disciples of all nations” (Matthew 28:19). In doing so, OLMC School strives to be faithful to the Magisterium and Catechism of the Catholic Church. A deep love of Jesus Christ is fostered through participation in the Sacraments and opportunities for prayer, thus giving students a foundation in their faith and forming them as strong moral and virtuous leaders capable of being intelligent witnesses of the Gospel. OLMC School warmly welcomes families of other faiths but asks that our distinctive Catholic identity be respected. In all of our instruction, we are respectful of other faiths while humbly imparting the truths of our Catholic faith.
As members of the Body of Christ, we are all called to actively worship and come to know God through prayer, adoration, liturgy, traditions and celebrations. Spiritual Life is an incredibly strong part of the OLMC community. Parents, parishioners, faculty, staff, and students regularly pray and worship together. Some of the many OLMC opportunities for spiritual growth include:
- Morning and afternoon prayers
- Weekly all-school Masses
- Sacramental preparation supported by parish programs
- Faith Family activities
- Rosary devotions
- Liturgical calendar devotions and celebrations
