| Uniform Policy|
Starting June 2017, all OLMC School uniforms will be purchased exclusively through Flynn & OHara, either online at Flynn O Hara or at their store located at 1920 Centerville Turnpike, #113, Virginia Beach, VA 23464. There will be a 2 year phase-out period of currently owned other brand clothing items ending June 2019.
Basic Requirements for All Students: Grades K-8
plain black or brown belt no fancy buckles
All students must wear a belt when wearing pants or shorts
Kindergarten boys and girls may wear elastic waist pants with no belt
Grades K-8 Navy, white or black crew socks only; no running/sports socks or anklets are allowed; middle school also has option of wearing Khaki crew socks. All socks are to be solid color with no visible logo.
Solid navy, white or black
Crew style may be worn with pants/shorts/skorts and must be at least 2 above the ankle; knee socks/knee highs are to be worn with skirts/jumpers; no anklets
Leggings or tights (navy, white or black) may be worn with skirts/jumpers during cold weather months
Shirts and Blouses:
Can be short or long sleeve
Long sleeve white turtleneck may be worn under a long sleeve uniform shirt or sweatshirt or under jumpers for girls in K-5
OLMC navy blue sweatshirts may be worn with uniforms and are purchased through the school
Oversized sweatshirts are considered out of uniform
OLMC fleeces, jackets and sports sweatshirts are to be worn outside only
Navy blue v-neck, crew neck cardigans or pullover sweaters may be worn (no logo required)
No cable-knit sweaters
Sweaters must be button down or pullover no zippers/no hoods
Black or brown lace-ups; black or brown Docksiders (no additional fabric or colors)
Ballet flats or Mary Janes are allowed for girls in K-5
No more than 1 heel; no deep tread
Haircuts must be neat and above eyebrows, ears and collars
No additional colors or dyes allowed
Hair barrettes, ribbons, bows or headbands should reflect natural hair color or the school plaid, navy blue, white and yellow
No additional colors or dyes allowed
Hair should not cover eyes or face
Earrings must be post earrings only. Hoops or dangling earrings are out-of-uniform.
A single bracelet OR a watch may be worn; either choice must be simple and tasteful
A necklace may be worn if it is simple, religious and tasteful.
A ring may be worn if it is simple and tasteful.
No make-up is to be worn.
During cold weather months, girls wearing skirts/jumpers may wear navy blue sweatpants under their skirts for recess or carpool duties. Pajama bottoms are not allowed. Girls are encouraged to wear navy blue or white shorts/bike shorts under the skirts/jumpers.
Uniform Details by Grade Level:
Preschool Students: Students should wear the OLMC spirit wear shirt (long or short sleeve) each day with jeans or solid color pants. Spirit wear shirts are purchased through OLMC School only. Solid color knee length shorts can be worn Aug. Oct. 15 and then after Easter break through June. Pants/shorts can be elastic waist. Tennis shoes are preferred NO light up shoes, NO sandals, NO flip flops.
Mass Day Uniform (optional):
Boys: navy pants with light blue oxford button down shirt; sweatshirt and/or school plaid or navy tie may be worn
Girls: plaid jumper with Peter Pan collared blouse and knee socks or tights (shorts should be worn under the jumper)
Kindergarten-5th Grade Boys:
Navy pants (no corduroy/cargo/low riders/faddish styles). Navy, knee length shorts may be worn Aug. Oct. 15 and then after Easter break. White/light blue polo with school logo or short/long sleeve light blue oxford cloth button down shirt (no logo).
Mass Uniform: Navy pants with light blue oxford cloth button down shirt (sweatshirt/uniform plaid or navy tie optional).
Kindergarten-5th Grade Girls:
Knee length plaid jumper (split neck or round collar) with white Peter Pan collared blouse, short or long sleeve. 5th grade girls may also wear the plaid skirt instead of the jumper. Navy pants with white/light blue polo with school logo. Navy, knee length shorts or skort may be worn Aug. Oct. 15 and then after Easter break.
Mass Uniform: Plaid jumper with Peter Pan collared blouse and knee socks/tights. 5th grade girls may wear plaid jumper or skirt with Peter Pan collared blouse and knee socks/tights
6th-8th Grade Boys:
Khaki pants (no corduroy/cargo/low riders/faddish styles). Khaki, knee length shorts may be worn Aug. Oct. 15 and then after Easter break. White/navy blue polo with school logo or short/long sleeve white oxford cloth button down shirt (no logo).
Mass Uniform: Khaki pants with white oxford cloth button down shirt with navy tie
6th-8th Grade Girls: :
Knee length plaid skirt with white oxford cloth button down shirt, short or long sleeve (no logo). Khaki pants (no corduroy/cargo/low riders/faddish styles). Khaki, knee length shorts or skort may be worn Aug. Oct. 15 and then after Easter break. White/navy blue polo with school logo or short/long sleeve white oxford cloth button down shirt (no logo).
Mass Uniform: Plaid skirt with white oxford cloth button down shirt, short or long sleeve and knee socks
Physical Education Uniform:
Students wear simple athletic, non-skid tennis shoes during P.E. class. Shorts should be worn under jumpers/skirts. Students are encouraged to keep a pair of P.E. shoes at school as students are not allowed to call home for forgotten P.E. items.
